OCB recently approved a travel support request to provide travel stipends to help offset the costs for U.S.-based postdocs to attend the 2019 SOLAS Open Science Conference (April 21-25, 2019, Sapporo, Japan). OCB is seeking applications from interested U.S.-based postdocs who require financial assistance in order to attend the conference. Travel stipend recipients will be expected to present a poster at the conference. Applications should include the following:
- Name, affiliation, and email address
- Poster abstract title
- Abbreviated (2-page max) CV
- A brief statement (1 short paragraph) of the applicant’s research interests and how they would benefit from participating in the conference
- An overview of anticipated expenses (airfare, registration fee, accommodations) and other sources of support (advisor, department, other travel grants, etc.)
Please submit your application to the OCB Project Office (hbenway@whoi.edu) by October 26, 2018. Applications will be reviewed by the OCB Ocean-Atmosphere Interaction Committee and OCB Project Office, and applicants will be notified by November 9 in order to accommodate the early bird registration deadline for the conference (November 15).
