Potential Contract Position

FYI
There is a very good likelihood that a contract technical position will
be opening in Narragansett, RI working with the Oceanography Branch
(_http://www.nefsc.noaa.gov/epd/ocean/MainPage/_). The position will
involve working on a new ocean acidification monitoring effort in the
northeastern U.S. The activities will include participating in the Ship
of Opportunity Program
(http://www.nefsc.noaa.gov/epd/ocean/MainPage/soop.html), working with
flow-through pCO2 systems, arranging sample shipment for analysis, and
generally supporting our other monitoring efforts. As for travel, the
position would include ~20 days at sea per year, ship visits to Newark,
NJ (1-2 trips a month) and Everett, MA (1 trip a month), and potential
participation in the annual AOML-SEAS meeting
http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/phod/goos/meetings/2010/OPS_2010/Agenda_SEAS-XBT-TSG_Ops_2010.pdf.
There is currently money for 1 year, but it is anticipated that the
contract will be renewed annually for the next several years. If
interested, please send a CV to Jon Hare:
